Best Kept Secret About UPS Pay

Every Airline
You know every airline should have pay that reaches those heights. UPS is a yard stick to measure what has been lost throughout the rest of the industry.
300+ per year is worth all the commuting, crash pads, crummy hotel rooms, red eyes, 2:00am get ups and other humiliations.
It is a real tragedy. The brass ring just isn't worth it anymore at most other airlines.

75 hours pay guarantee per pay period
So in a normal 15 days a month of Reserve, many UPS pilots get used 2-3 days worth. The rest of the time they are being paid to live their lives at home carrying a cell phone. Not a bad gig. Sometimes they get used a little more than others and sometimes they don't get called at all during the 15 days of duty that month, but the average is 2-3 days.
Not so secret any more....If you can run a schedule like this...that is awesome....but unless you are pretty senior it would get pretty painful...IMHO.

It depends on the fleet. On the domestic side it's usually for 1 or 2 days. Those sitting MD-11 Reserve, however, can expect to be called out for 14 days. Most domestic fleets have an 8 day and 7 day block while the international guys have 15 day blocks. I've been on multiple seats and have never been called out for more than 3 days at a time on the 727 or 747.
