My B of A story:

Act I - I had a 60K+ RV Loan with those clowns. When I sold the RV, I went to the local branch to get the actual payout b/c the "Dial 1 to be ignored" system was incapable of directing me to the Boat and RV department. The branch manager said that HE would need three days to get the info because I didn't have a checking acct so my request would have to go by internal mail.

Act II - Tried another branch. They got the payoff instantly on their "system." Okay, mgr one was a boob, no sweat but wait, as long as I'm here, can you notarize this Bill of Sale for me? "No sir, Since you don't have an acct, we will have to charge you for notary services." "Umm, I do have an acct, you just gave me the payout." "Oh no, I mean a checking acct."

Act III - Back to branch one where the SAME MGR as before happily notarized the Bill of Sale at no charge.

Prologue - The RV buyer was a local Bank of America employee. The sale was delayed because the check from his new Bank of America RV loan, would not payout my old Bank of America RV loan without a 7 day waiting period.

UGHHH.

I paid mine on time too and have an established history of paying on time; however, they received the payment on a weekend (the due date was a Sunday) and didn't post the payment as received until Monday. Then they charged me a $30 late fee. I called em about it and eventually got the late fee waved after talking to a manager about it.

I recently cashed out all my points and am going to close the account after I receive my amazon gift card.

BOA now controls a large part of the financial system with its latest purchase. I guess monopolistic airlines scare the government more than a monopoly with the financial system that drives our economy. Too much power is being put in the hands of too few. Mark my words we will see another economic crisis due to mismanagement and the taxpayers will be on the hook for hundreds of billions to this company some day. Total crock.

You are exactly right...exactly right......especially after listening to Kenneth Lewis....If BOA ever went under they would take the whole ship with it.... The Fed doesn't have enough paper confidence money to bail them out.......... This country put all the power in the hands of such few with the creation of the Federal Reserve Board (private organization) in 1913.... and we gave them even more power in 1933 when we came off the gold standard. Strong regulations, FRB bail outs, and several other factors will contribute when our skyscraper of cards get's blown down in the upcoming economic crisis..... The question is how long can we pretend we're doing ok for? What happens when they reach into the bag and there is nothing there?

Agreed. My fear is that the foreign countries that hold large amounts of U.S. debt are driving the push to stabilize the dollar and help us out of this current crisis. But they will slowly pull out their investment over the next ten years or so. It will be done slowly so they don't negatively impact the currency. However, when the next crisis hits, they will be off the hook and will not be in a hurry to bail us out. They may even look at that crisis as the reason to drive us out of the Captain seat as the world's benchmark economy. Look at China at that one. They have one mission right now, world domination. Ours is more concerned with who's having an illegitimate baby or what the movie stars are saying about who they want to vote for.

No politician is addressing this either because they are too stupid or too afraid to the public the straight talk. I fear the day this comes to pass as the great depression will look like a day at the beach.

Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae's bailouts are good examples of China's influence in the US. The house of Sau'd has us blackmailed. The future of Boeing and China is also interesting.
