I agree 100% with what is boldfaced. Hope won't put food on the table - a sound economy will.

We will recover, but not without some difficult economic lessons to be had. Hopefully this generation (and future ones) will save more, spend less and build wealth. My "hope" is that people will start looking out for themselves (i.e., build your own nest egg) and not rely on an i.o.u. from Uncle Sam or their employer.

Is there hope? Only if sound and prudent economic principles are practiced - starting with the proverbial Joe Sixpack.
