Default Car loans and insurance

Hey guys it's about time I get me a new vehicle. Today I saw a nice truck with only 30k miles I'd like to get. However I'm new to this. My last truck I paid cash for with help from my parents. I worked 4yrs on the farm growing rice and my dad took half my wages and put them aside. So once I turned 16 I paid for most of it. Had 12 whole miles on it and now has 135k. After recent transmition work I just spent half of it's value on one repair lol. I hate how they look at the book and charge a flat rate even though it only took half an hour and not the 5hrs the book said.

Anywho like I said I'm new to both purchasing a used car from a person and getting insurance. I once saw a sheet that showed who the safest drivers are. #1 is farmers and #2 is pilots... I'm still a farmer. And I'm still a pilot lol. Could I save on insurance with any of that?

Also I belong to AOPA. Do you know if there is some special way to get cheaper loans? Any advice would help.

Thanks
Duck
