Cryptocurrency prices are extremely volatile in these very early days to be sure. But they represent a highly disruptive technology that will absolutely have it's place in our future. People should always be very careful with any investment, but to suggest that money based on cryptographic hashing and mathematics is only a fad and will fade like beanie babies would be a serious miscalculation.

There have already been bubbles in cryptocurrencies, ( in fact we may well be in one now with bitcoin ) and surely there will be more to come, but the technology will persist.

Crypto currencies, like pyramid schemes are profitable only if you get in really early.

When Bitcoin first started, you could churn them out on a regular computer. Now, only those with special equipment can economically make them. At this point, it's a commodity.

If you made a few hundred back inthe beginning, you'd be in good shape now.
