Retired airline pilots are the only way NJA will get experienced candidates, so no, your app won't get flagged. NJA loves guys that want to fly until they die too (no offense). The only reason the average flight hours for new hires is so high, is because of retired airline pilots.

Latitude initial was probably the easiest initial I have ever done. Complete non event, including type. Heck, you even get a check ride warm up session. Anyone can have a hiccup here and there, no doubt, but whoever has major problems getting through an initial this easy should seriously reconsider flying.

I think things have changed with all the new stuff they are putting into the sims, 80% of our class needed "extra training" I thought the 6 hour type ride was a bit excessive myself!

3 65+ year olds in our class, interesting they all got the X. All were American retired Captains.

It’s not a 6 hr type. The schedule allows UP TO 3 hours per ride, you serve seat support for either first or second half. Once you are done with yours, unless you do something real stupid, it is essentially the other guy getting the type. I did mine in 1:55, brisk pace, easy. How it gets long is when guys are doing 180 kts around all patterns and extended downwinds, asking for delayed vectors. And the tested items required has not changed in many years, in fact evaluator has some discretion that was not available before.

Consider yourself lucky to have 7 sims before type. Spirit gives you 4 after A LOT of self study. FSI spoon feeds EVERYTHING to you, airlines, AQP or not, require big boy pants.

This 100%, those unable to pass a NJA type rating at FSI is pretty sad. It was way easier than my 121 training. It’s a sign of the people wanting to go to NJA though.

Yeesh....now THAT is sad.....three geniuses divorced from too many FAs to enjoy retirement.............well, as Clint said in Unforgiven...”Derserves got nothin’ to do with it......”

This is almost exactly the way I describe Latitude training. Can you work an iPhone or Android? Training will be super easy.
Need a Jitter Bug? You're going to fail.

Your in the sim now for 6 hours with a 10 min break in the middle, going second was exhausting as you still gotta support your PIC during the first three hours, 5 approaches plus maneuvers, its a long ride. I cannot imagine Spirits training, do they charge for the bathroom? Spirit and Frontier are on NJA's no fly list, won't buy tickets on them.

Not necessarily....I use pen and paper and need a rotary dial phone, yet I still found the types (all of them) pretty easy. If you can't pass NJA training, there "may be a problem" with the pilot.
