Indoc is made to be an enjoyable experience, to help newhires understand how we operate. There is a test. If you've been paying attention in class, then it isn't difficult.

NJA technically has access to the entire FSI network of facilities (plus Textron for Longitude), although CMH is preferred.

For the most part NJA procedures trained FSI instructors will teach.

Yes, don't let these guys con you about them being easy. They've adopted the very tough Japanese model of oral exams:

Default Can not yet post - so I guess this is a good

Hello! I have been with AAL for 31 years. Air Force prior to that. I'm not ready to stop flying. I still love it. Everyday something new to experience and a view that is never the same.

So, NetJets keeps coming up as a place I might find as a good fit. I've read through a lot of your posts looking for both the good and the bad. Please feel free to enlighten me with your own thoughts!

It seems that a common concern is the time away from home. For those who are raising a family, I totally understand that. That's a period of time that is so important to your children, and it's time that you can't get back. For those of us who's children have grown, it's really not an issue. I know that a lot of my fellow line pilots endeavor to work as little as possible. That's their choice. I have been in the training department as a CKA and an APD for the past 6 1/2 years. We work a minimum of 17 days a month, so the 7 on 7 off is actually a lighter load than I'm used to!

So, I am very interested in your thoughts about a retired mainline guy like me starting over again and being your FO. Any and all thoughts comments are welcome.

Thank you for your time!

Jeff

Try not to confuse non-union competitor line flying with NJA indoc.

In the past when hiring ramped up, it wasn't uncommon to get sent to non CMH locations for a generic type to get the pipeline moving faster towards the line. I wouldn't be surprised if they did this and then had an AOM/ company procedures crash course in the CMH sims right before pushing pilots out for IOE. It is definitely not an ideal way to do training, but there is no way FSI can ramp up CMH and other locations with NetJets trained instructors to teach the NetJets AOM from the get go in the time frame needed to get live bodies on line. Hopefully they can get the pipeline working smoothly by some time next year, but I don't see any sort of smooth flow anytime soon. This is one that I hope I'm wrong.

Especially with how short handed many FSI centers and programs are now, it will definitely be a struggle to handle the increased workload.

so AQP wouldn’t be a thing if they did it this way?

im sure I’ll learn all of this shortly in class just curious.

AQP currently only applies to recurrent, not to initial training.

I don't know that AQP applies to the initial training event. I don't know this as fact, but if it is, it will be excruciatingly slow to get the pipeline running smoothly. I could see it taking until after this time next year to get the new hires from this year all trained up if all have to go through initial training with the individual AOMs and AQP from the beginning. They really wouldn't be able to take more than half of the 100+ new airframes with zero airplane returns that they are planning since it wouldn't be possible to train them fast enough. The current pace of operations isn't sustainable without the several hundred new pilots they are planning on.
