Default Netjets Rumor - Bad news

I heard from 2 friends that are long time Netjets pilots/ACP's that there are talks of additional pilot furloughs (another 275.)

I hope it is not true. Anyone heard similar news?

I work with a couple furloughed NetJet pilots who have confirmed this news as well. They also said there is talk of downgrades with the furloughs.

Sounds like just another rumor from the "Netjets haters". No information from the company nor from the union. Contract provides pretty strong protection from downgrades.

I heard that last week as well... "NetJets Haters" did not start this rumor, our guys did... It only takes one person to get the F rumor going, then others come on and start throwing numbers up in the air. "I heard 200, "I heard 275", and "I heard 400".... just pilots being pilots, that's all

Are we going to furlough again??? maybe, but nothing official yet... as far as how many, I wish our guys would stop doing that, they're freeking out everyone at the bottom

I am not a hater. I have several (good) friends that are long time employees. They told me what they heard at work.

FWIW, I have been contacted by no less than five guys that are part of that group. They all stated that they are looking at another cut this fall. All of them are preparing for the furlough as if it is already official.

In a nutshell, this seems to be a "rumor" with a decent amount a validity.

I was amazed recently to meet a furloughed Net Jets pilot that moved on. I asked him if he would ever go back. His answer was no as he had to resign from Net Jets to get his current position. He seemed to think he might not get recalled for 10 years anyhow. In my opinion Net Jets was a lot better of a job than his current position. That is why I was a little surprised.

Yes, NetJets was a GREAT job! Yes I am furloughed. Yes I expect to never go back. The furlough will be longer than projected because there is basically no attrition due to the quality of the job. New management has cancelled every delivery they are not contractually required to take. They are disposing of a large number of aircraft. They still "claim" to be overstaffed.

Does that mean there will be another furlough? I have no idea. I hope not. Past actions by the new management is what gives a rumor like this legs. It is sad that it is believable. Good luck to those on the "new" bottom. I hope not to see ya'll elsewhere.

Also note that the new management is more than content, pleased even, that there is fear and uncertainty in the ranks. A marked difference from the management that hired us (the furloughees.)

Sounds like Warren's boy is really making his boss proud! Sorry to all who are affected by this.
