The time from the invite to the actual interview was pretty short, so there wasn't much to update.

And the stupid question of the day bound for internet forum bashing: what does TMAAT stand for? A brief google search indicates this would be things akin to: tell us about a time....??

It wouldn't shock me at all if I was already flagged to not make it to day 2.
Jetlife, sorry you were turned down. If it's anything like it was back in 2008 (and it sounds like some things are, and some things are not), I would re-apply in 6 months.

There are a lot of things going on due to contract negotiations, but I have a hard time believing they would waste anyones time (especially theirs) by calling you in knowing they were going to turn you down. Everyone is busy, and I'm sure they would love to hire everyone that came in the door to cut down on the number of people that they have to interview.

Take an honest look at yourself as a candidate. Are you missing something that others had, did you not present yourself well, were you able to come up with quality stories showing how you're different? If it wasn't something that you could improve upon, then maybe there was something about you that didn't "click" with the interviewer....which sucks, but there isn't anything you can do about that.

I didn't get turned down. I still have my interview.

I just don't understand what the variable would be if they aren't asking for logbooks and pilot certs, they aren't doing a background check yet, they aren't simming you, and there are no technical questions...

Are they covering the room and airfare to bring you out for the interview? If so, I'd say they aren't turning people down just to play games.

Don't know. I've deferred recall, so I'm not in the loop. Back when I interviewed in 2008, about 30% of the interviewees were offered the job. They were heavy on customer service, and the sim seemed to weed out a bunch as well. They can probably afford to be extra picky at this time. Id like to think that they are being as selective now as they were 7 years ago. Hiring every applicant won't do the company any good.

It was pretty disappointing to get the middle finger and not even make it to the sim, but in hindsight I don't think its the end of the world. The job I have now stinks, but the job market is picking up very quickly, so I doubt I'll be stuck here long. EJA would have been a steady paycheck with good job stability, but sitting in the right seat for 10 years may have gotten frustrating, and left a lot of money on the table. I have 0 121 time, so there is no hope of me getting on at a major, but I have lots of connections in the 91 world, and something is bound to pop one of these days.
