Has there been a date announced for restart of operations for Ravn?

Somewhere between now and never. They don’t have any infrastructure so it’s probably going to be a while.

Heard that RAVN is gathering pilots and telling them to plan for early September training slots in Seattle.

I've seen this reported in the news. Rehiring about 400 staff, operations start in September, operating at 40% capacity for about 6 months. Partnering with Alaska Air and Delta for assistance with safety to make sure their operations are up to par.

Anyone have any insights? I was hoping to take my wet commercial and get a FO job for a couple years before Covid and the bankruptcy.

Only the 121 side is re-opening. You will need 1500 hours to qualify. The SIC program in the 208 was for the 135 side and only existed in order to staff the place during the pilot shortage.

Unfortunate. Anyone in Alaska know of 135 operations still flying? I was hoping for another route outside of CFI work.

There are a few 135s hiring, but they all have their pick of pilots with a lot of Alaska time.

I wouldn’t expect “New” Ravn to be up and running any time soon.

All the Ravn/Ravn Connect pilots have flooded the market. I was one of the pilots laid off and went back to instructing for a few months before being picked up by another 135 Carrier up here. Unless you live in AK you won’t be hired (Covid-19 protocol is a pain which is Quarantining on your own dime up here if commuting from out of state). You’ll also need some solid AK time too. I was really lucky to end up where I am and I will probably be here for handful of years to come. Also upgrades have pretty much stopped since there’s no movement...

Ravn is running their crews through the sim so they just might open this month.

I heard Ravn is doing proving runs to Cold Bay.
