Only thing I can think of is EYW is very weight limited for the runway. Otherwise, there is no policy thing I can think of that would keep them from authorizing you on the jump seat for the flight.

Thanks for the feedback guys! Always a pleasure seeing y’all around!

Default AFW Cargo side

For those in the know:

What is the training foorprint for new hires flying Cargo?
Is it more of a quick turn around or any overnights?
What are the routes of of AFW?
Do you need to meet Part 121.436 in order to upgrade?

thanks for those who will answer.

- Training footprint is the same regardless of where you are based at first:
--- 3.5 weeks of ground school, 3-4 weeks to complete flat panel training and sim training (six sessions each), the about 1-2 weeks of OE.
--- AFW pilots also have to do a 500 differences course (training is in the 600) which takes one day of ground and 3 sim sessions

- Due to cargo configuration, flights are 1.5 to 2 hours away, you sit for about 1.5 to 2 hours to unload/load, then fly back

- Current routes: flights from AFW to - Des Moines, Kansas City, Mobile, and Omaha.

- All 121 operations require you to meet times listed in 122.436 to upgrade, regardless of passenger or cargo ops.

Default AFW Cargo side

For those in the AFW:

How many hours do you guys fly in a month on average?
Is it true you guys get an additional living allowance for being based in AFW?
Do you see any slow down on the Amazon load factor in the coming months?

Line holders average 75-80 hours per month.

Yes, we get a $300 monthly housing allowance.

The load factor varies a lot, even day to day, but I don't see it slowing down overall.

AFW:

Are cargo operations operated under 121 or 135? If 121, then that means a crew member upon reaching his/her 65th birthday for now, would have to come off of the flight deck...correct?

What will happen to the AFW based crew? Will they move to the pax side?
