Is there somebody who currently works here that can answer a few questions for me? Please PM Me if you wouldn't mind shedding some light on a few things at silver.
Thank you

Wink Wish me luck

I got an interview coming up, wish me luck all. Just wanted to say hi to all my hopeful future silver wings brethren. I would PM some of you for info, but haven't earned my wings here yet either. Hoping my 1200 TT, 101 ME, (CFII experience mostly is enough to get me in. )

Either way, going to give it my best shot!

Thanks for some of the info many of you shared on here!

Just be positive make them like you, bring a list of addresses for references, history of tickets or moving violations(hardest to remember the dates). Work history. You have ALOT of paper work to fill out on the interview. I have a gouge on willflyforfood that still seems to be pretty accurate. I think more than anything they're looking for pilots willing to learn and grow with the new company. Sheltair has a shuttle so dont pay a cab. The sim is an old Frasca 1900C type sim, its very shaky, but it seems to be more about procedures than fighting the sim to keep altitude. If you have problems with holding review that, you do one hold and then vectors for the ILS 9L. The written has some Instrument and ATP questions, mostly about interpreting Approach plates and VASI lighting. Try the shepperd air ATP prep for a refresher.

Again I think the interview mood is set by you, if you come in with an eager and positive attitude and can socially interact with whoever interviews you (it varies who interviews) you should be fine. Presentation is everything. Id say from some guys I saw interview make sure you're dressed professionally too, be a professional looking pilot, some did show up not so presentable, don't be like that. Everything is yours to lose or gain. Good luck

Good luck with the interview. You seem like you're an enthusiastic and positive guy. If you have questions feel free to PM either me, or some of the other Silver pilots on here.

I'll try to answer any questions also. Unfortunately I do not have the means to get the contract online.

I had my interview with them over a week ago, everyone was very friendly, they help you get comfortable.
As everyone else said, take all the information you have on previous jobs and schools you attended, dates, addresses and phone numbers. There is a bunch of paperwork to fill out.
If they invite you to take the written and sim ride they will take your fingerprints first.

Just be yourself and show you are happy to be there, I know everybody already said this but I'll repeat it, keep a good attitude! Which should not be hard if you are there to learn a grow, I let them know that.

The written is 50 multiple choice, a lot of questions about a Jeppesen IAP, the simulator is very touchy but they are looking to see if you have the basic IFR skills, a good scan of your instruments. The guy in the sim was very helpful, he selected the radios even offered to take care of the power settings, you just fly it. Take off climb to 2000' turn left to a heading then turn right, then fly direct to the VOR, when flying to the VOR will give you holding instructions, I told him how I would enter the hold, then he told me I could do one hold and then he would reposition the plane to intercept the localizer and fly the approach to land. I did one hold and then the approach into Tampa.

They said I did good and to wait for them to call me. Now I'm just waiting, if I don't hear back from them I'll call to follow up by the end of this week.

Good luck, hope to see you in class!!!

i interviewed back in December btw and got offered a class in March, so it was a long time but u must be patient. But I would definately recommend following up with the hr dept or chief pilot once every few weeks just to remind them your still keen in joining them. This is what I did for 3 months and it worked for me I guess. Good Luck.
