You mean the Valujet folks who became AirTran? And were bought by Southwest, you know that regional airline who became the model for LCC and has their highest wages and some of the best work rules in the industry!

mvndc10 .....WRONG.....
Ya you compared us to Southwest which is a kiss of death because that is one of the top rung of the ladder. Let me guess you work for Eagle or wait better Colgan? your airlines is doing better right... Just cause we are growing and changing doesn't mean we need hate. Go back to your rock and do not pass go. Silver is a good place to work they work you hard but that is what you want because you need to get your time and move on at any regional. Don't get ****ed because "we're the best regional around" (inside joke)

People don't forget a names of pilot groups that screwed the industry. If so why doesn't go jet change there name to gold wings and everyone will just forget. That's not how it works. Not saying that silver new hires are doing anything wrong but neither are new hire go jetters. Its just a bad name.

I've sent my resume for a DEC position. At this point I'm not really sure what to do, or if i even want to interview with them. Can some provide with accurate info on these questions (assuming current growth plans):
- Junior base for DECs? I'mguessing north, but which ones are the most junior, CLE, BIL?
- Time frame to expect to be on reserve? Months? Years?
- Time frame to hold a FL base?

What, you took the words right out of my mouth....
Mvndc10, what point are you trying to make here? As someone previously said, you probably work for Colgan or Eagle. We fly fun planes into awesome uncontrolled Bahamian airports, get to overnight in resorts all over the islands, learn from Captains who actually enjoy doing their jobs, and have a blast doing it. I'd rather work here, than get stuck on a 6 day trip in a shiny jet with a prick who thinks their sh!tty regional job is better than the other, or does nothing but complain about it... Lol, seems like your living the life of luxury. But what about the folks flying out of Bradford and Billings? I'm sure they're just excited to be there too, enjoying the mountains and horse back riding, and hiking the appalachian right?

Haha. Actually I'd love to be up in Billings. More of my kind of lifestyle. Not too sure about the NE bases (im from NY). Dont like the business/crowdedness of Lauderdale. Im floating around on TDY right now, so just trying to enjoy it while I got it. Getting kind of tired of living out of a hotel though... Probably be based up north in a week or so.
