Thanks. I just wanted to know to if the Saab 340 FO position is still open. I live local in FLL. Also do they pay while in training? Also are they hiring B1900 FO`s for Florida as well? Thanks

Uhhhhhh, no. Straight from the horses mouth. B1900 FO's for Billings only, currently. If I'm wrong Salukipilot4590, I'd like to hear where you heard that they are hiring Saab FO's. Not to come off as too challenging. I'd like it to be true, but I'm virtually certain I'm right.

B1900s have to be out of FL by October according to management. All 1900s will operate out of the NE and BIL, fl and the southeast will be strictly Saab.

We'll see how they hold to their plan of transition, part of the December 1900 class is in saab transition and the staffing bid is out so we shall see how the new company pans out.

FLL the 1900 is a slowly reduced schedule process 7 flying lines with everything else reserve. Hope for the best under the new expansion

The class info sounds promising. What were the transitions from and to? (eg. B1900 Cap't to Saab 340 FO and/or B1900 FO to Saab FO and/or B1900 FO to Saab Cap't)

Also, were these transitioners already from FLL? Or were they from other bases....like Billings?

Lots of good info mexipilot84. Thanks for posting. How long have you been with Silver?

The dec class is all FOs no captains from there yet. The captains transition this time I think are all FLL based captains that were on the 1900 for the longest l. Slow transition hopefully my class after theirs can see the Saab soon and get some good results from the the staffing bid. The nice thing is having people under me which I never expected, in that regard upgrading one day looks like some good.

Interesting. So it looks like transitioning B1900 Captains are taking pay-cuts to step over to Saab FO?

............Saab FO .....B1900 Cap't
Year 4.....$30..............$41
Year 3.....$28..............$38
Year 2.....$24..............$35

Unless there's something I'm not considering?

Someone needs to update their page here. It's clear they are not hiring into the Saab.

Further, their WillFlyForFood posts say they are hiring "Saab 340 and B1900 Pilots" and "Saab 340 and B1900 Captains".

Guy for those of you that are working at Silver and have chimed in don't take this as an offense. This is pure marketing by the company, they have hired DEC to the 1900 (I believ there were a few SAAB as well, and over the last few months they have hired FO into both fleets, so technically they are hiring into both fleet just not at the current moment! For those of you posting and passing information to the guys looking for a job, thanks for that there is to much negativity and fighting for 70 airplanes around here ;)

There is a 90 day wait for health insurance (from date of hire, ie first day of class). The insurance is through Aetna I think.

No one is going Be1900 CA to Saab FO. What he meant was that the Dec was all FOs, so there arent any CAs for that class. Im pretty sure the plan is, transition all Captains and FOs to the Saab in order of seniority (if thats what they want) as per the staffing bid. If you're a 1900 FO and can upgrade, you will probably upgrade into the 1900, but I know of a few guys who can hold the Saab, and may be going FO 1900 to CA Saab. I dont think they are hiring right now into the Saab because they are transitioning 1900 drivers from north into the Saab, so they will need pilots for the 1900. But what do I know, I only work here. They probably tell the guys interviewing more than they tell us...
