Also, were these transitioners already from FLL? Or were they from other bases....like Billings?

Lots of good info mexipilot84. Thanks for posting. How long have you been with Silver?
It's really a mixed bag of the transitions. Some 1900 Captains to Saab captain, 1900 FOs to Saab Captain, and 1900 FOs to Saab FO (including myself) and DEC Saab Captains as we are mixed in with the new hire class.

Slow transition hopefully my class after theirs can see the Saab soon and get some good results from the the staffing bid. The nice thing is having people under me which I never expected, in that regard upgrading one day looks like some good.

Good deal. Well, I don't have any hotel information. I called And verified I'm in the class, but I think they must have the wrong email address for me. Which hotel are you staying at? I'll just go there when I get in on Sunday. Figure Silver has an account there.

Usually it's the Springhill Suites an exit or two south of the Ft. Lauderdale airport main exit.

Flying high over Montana on a jumpseat the other day we all heard some of your planes flying near Billings, going to Wolf Point or somewhere like that. How is that operation up there? Do people who started at Gulfstream in FLL like the change? Is there a base up there, or TDY's? How are the hotels and layovers? Seems like a big change from South Florida.

Three questions....

Are you still doing direct entry captain and if not what is the most junior captain DOH

What are the chances of getting TPA as a base out of training?

Is hiring planned all the way through the end of the year?

DEC into the 1900 only as of right now, may change though.

Will be able to give you a better read on that (TPA) once the staffing bid is posted hopefully next week.

The Buisness model as of right now per the CP / management and the union is to have 550 guys on property by May 1st 2013. So yes hiring will continue for the foreseeable future.
