I called the number on their website after completing the on-line app. Yes the ATP written is required as is your FCC license. Good luck.

Your words seem like you're recruiting for them trying to act as a trying to apply.

This is my second career. Even the 135 positions are paying poorly. Local flight schools have no positions for CFIs. It is between Sivler Airways and Cape Air for me. I am older and this is it or leave the profession until things change. No appology just playing the hand dealt.

we should be posting on this one and not Gulfstream

I couldn't tell you whats changed since I haven't been here before the buyout, but from what everyone is saying it's better than before.

Anything is better than the old GIA....they were installing car parts into 121 aircraft. I'm seriously doubtful that the company is suddenly all about self-improvement and not making the next buck in any way they can. If you want to defend them so bad why not do a little research so you can state specifically how Silver Airways is different.

What!?!?!

Maybe they just don't have a position for you. All my CFI friends are booked solid (and they are making more money than me :()

I think it all depends on where you are. The flight school I was at it was 8 flight instructors fighting over 1 discovery flight hoping to make it a student, you would get bum rushed on your way to the phone. At the same time there were flight schools who had to turn down students because they were understaffed, most of those were in warm and nice areas to fly or had contracts with foreign students.

I don't have time to look up useless facts about the old GIA, but here is a difference the new Silver Airways gave all full time employees including us new hires a very nice little bonus.
