-staffing bid end of July ::rolls eyes::
-Saluki is the new Chief Pilot (seems legit)

Boom.
I heard (again...RUMORS). Were getting rid of the B1900s cuz of IOSA, and them needing reinforced cockpit doors w/crash axe. Too expensive, so bye bye B1900s. Also, gettijg rid of BIL system completely, and with the $$$ from the sell of the B1909s getting more Saabs for the CLE system. Codeshare with Delta, and Silver is working on a $45mil deal to fly Q400's out of FLL for longer Bahama flights. Oh, and new manuals. Again... ALL RUMORS here folks. Believe 0 til you see them on campus, with company paint, and Silver pilots flying it...

I'd vote for that, especially if the duties included illustrating the manuals.

Replacing the 1900s in CLE with Saabs would require that we renegotiate the EAS compensation wouldn't it?

It's possible but I doubt the gubment is going to just grant money because we don't feel like flying the airplanes we agreed to fly. Now we COULD do it on our own dime but I doubt that. How are the loads into CLE?

As for the Q400s...anything could happen right now but that would be at least 12-18 months away.

Anyone get the new OM yet? How's everyone liking the new R&WX? I see awesome improvements coming!

(Like not having to constantly ask for people's emp#s when you're filling out the log can)

I don't know how the EAS thing works, but I would assume yes would be the answer. I'm sure the Saab is much more than $2,009 per person to operate. However, if they switch to PIT on the Saab they have to renegotiate anyways, wouldn't they?

No new OM yet, but I am really liking the new release. Definitely a step in the right direction there.

Agreed. Except for 2 noticeable flaws; can't check if you need fuel or ballast when doing an IAD redneck triangle.

True. Maybe now we can get the outstations to keep ballast at every station rather than having it all stockpiled in a few select (and seems secretive) locations.

Just a quick side note: The "message from the airline" posted on FLICA was posted solely for one specific captain based in PKB. We don't want anyone thinking DUJ crews are inconsiderate or unsafe, 'cause we ain't.

My question is: what were crews doing in the past when Saabs from other carriers serviced those stations? We don't do the courtesy feather on the Saab when we turnout, and I don't recall 9L doing it when I would nonrev on theirs. Granted, we don't need to do the big power lever split to make a tight turn like we do on the Beech, but there should be at least SOME prop blast when we turn out. Wonder what the case will be if we ever put Saabs on the CLE routes?
