Thanks for the insight guys. I am going to continue to work on my proficiency and prepare for the interview process before making a decison on what regionals to submit my application. Besides Silver Airways I think I have narrowed my choices down to EXJ, PSA and Envoy.

2 yrs 9 months? That is hilarious. Why the hell would
Anyone go to ex-Gulfstream airlines for an upgrade that is longer than many of the large RJ jet operators? Makes zero sense to me. I don't work there, but interviewed when they were hiring street captains. I got the offer but decided against it, but my reasons weren't as narrow as "it used to be GUlfstream". It seemed like a decent place with nice enough people. A shiny jet isn't the end all for everyone. |

What are the junior bases in FL? What are the expected bases out of training? Are trips overnights or are you back to your domicile at night? How long on reserve out of training? Thanks for any info. I've read a lot of the previous posts but just looking for the most up to date info as I'm sure there is lots of movement.

Out of training you're coming up to IAD with me, don't worry you'll like it. Reserve times vary by base but most of the FNGs seem to be able to hold a line in a few months, always subject to change. Something to remember, you make WAY more money if you fly on reserve. We have the standard airline trips, 1-2-3-4-5 day trips, five day trips are something rare at the moment. |
New here....I summited my application and I am hopeful for a call for an interview soon...meanwhile I have a few questions I hope someone can help me with. I hear Silver started a pilot class in Jan. 5, 2015, any idea when the next class will be. Where and how long is the training? Are pilots getting pay during training? BTW it's the pilot pay posted on APC website current. Thank you!

I believe they're doing classes every 2 weeks not sure though. Ground school is done in ft lauderdale & sims are done in Miami. Training can range from 6-8 weeks. I believe the company is still doing 6 days of training (Mon-Sat) for new hires. Pay during training is 4hours per day of training. 1st year Saab FO pay is $25.29/hr. The pay rates on APC are correct. You also get per diem 24/7 while in training at $1.80/hr.
