Hi Everyone. I’ve recently relocated to Tampa and am interested in Silver. ATP, 3000+ TT, 400+ multi, <100 turboprop, diverse experience from Alaska to Africa but no type ratings. One of the challenges I’m facing is that I need to be home >70% of nights due to current family situation and can't really move from Tampa right now. Looking for corporate/charter/contracts that meet those requirements but haven't found it yet, thus Silver seems interesting...
1) Can new hires get TPA based easily?
2) Do TPA based crews mainly fly day trips? How many days/month on average for overnights?
3) How long is training (MIA, right?)?
4) Would like any other comments from TPA based pilots on QOL, pros/cons of working for Silver.
Thanks in advance!

On average, about half the TPA lines are day trips only. The rest of the lines are a combination of 1 day trips and or 2 day trips.
Training is about 8 weeks straight through. Four weeks ground school in FLL and then sims in MIA.

I am MCO based, but the TPA pilots I know like having day trips. Most pilots at Silver are here for QOL either for a career or while they build time to get to the next level. Silver has a Pathway program with Frontier and I know of a few CA who have been hired by Frontier in the last few months. PM me if have any other questions.

I think you can get TPA out of training. I know of new hires in the February & March classes that wanted TPA and got it out of training.

Can anyone share the average monthly take home pay for, lets say a 2nd year FO? Im seeing $35 an hour with a 75 hour guarantee. That's $2625/mo. But that's not a livable wage, ...right? I mean, thats a third of my military enlisted pay, So am I missing some other benefits, or are all the pilots extra poor.
