Couple questions, does the $17,000 sign on bonus come with a training contract and how long is it? Is the cargo flying schedule out of AFW 5 on 5 off? As a commuter the 5 on 5 off is very appealing to me.

Cargo ops Questions
for those flying the cargo route:
1. what time is the departure? 2. Do you go home every morning / night? 3. Is it straight flying for 4 or 5 days then youg get a day off? 4. How long till captain upgrade in the cargo/-500 side of ops? much appreciated folks! |

Show time is 1 hour before ETD, usually 2300. 2) Yes, home every morning around 7 to 8am depending on which city pair you fly.... unless you break at the outstation which has happened, but rare. In that case, you got to a hotel. All crews pack a small "just in case" bag. 3) 5 on/5 off. 4) Currently, you can upgrade as soon as you meet the 121.436 minimums. You're gonna fly around 55-65 hours per month on the cargo side once you hold a line. Very few people are taking the upgrade at AFW so if you are local and want it, it's yours. |

And Yes, 5 on 5 off. |
My ultimate goal is being MCO based working for Frontier, Spirit, JetBlue or southwest. Does silver airways have any agreements about any of those airlines not hiring their pilots? For example I wouldn't want to work at CommutAir if I wanted to fly for United or Endeavor if I wanted to fly for Delta or the wholley owned if I was trying to get on with American. From the other forums it looks like they would rather take pilots from the competitions feed and I wouldn't want to work at silver if this was the case with those MCO based airlines.

Sju base schedule

Silver pay
[QUOTE=flypilot;3491715]Freedom2A answered your question regarding the specific payouts, which is accurate, but my understanding is there's no "contract..." If you make it till OE, you get paid, 1 year, you get paid.... so on.... But if you leave, you're not going to be asked to repay any of it or anything like that. It's open ended.
And Yes, 5 on 5 off.[/QUOTE Can you give me any idea of actual take home pay year 1 FO? |
