FO Great Lakes

I appreciate the updates fellas. I'll be done with my cmel and csel before thanksgiving and am looking at all the options. My ideal low time gig is in AK but they won't be hiring again until the spring. Boutique would be a great option as well but it seems that ship has sailed. Just for ****s and grins I called a Great Lakes recruiter today. She asked me when was last time I flew an ndb approach and I felt kind of silly because I never have. I trained 90% in glass and even our steam had g430s. She said earliest possible class date would be April. So that's out, hopefully I'll be in AK by then. After I have my commercial I'm going to be an obnoxious presence here and on JC. If you know of any hot tips that will accept a wet commercial pass the word along I'm willing to relocate anywhere if there's enough flying to justify it. Thanks again for the updates and encouragement.

She actually said they have a pool of candidates and that the first available interview slot is in January and the first class date available would be March or April. Their minimums are now a fresh commercial multi so I guess the folks are lining up.

Great Lakes filed a notice of inability to file the 3rd Quarter (July 1 - September 30) 10-Q SEC report by the prescribed deadline.
"The management of Great Lakes Aviation, Ltd. (the “Company”) has determined that the Company is unable to file its Form 10-Q Quarterly Report for the period ended September 30, 2015 within the prescribed time period, without unreasonable effort and expense, due to the lack of personnel necessary to complete the information required for the filing on a timely basis. "
Evidently not only short on pilots!

Main takeaway, book some time on the sim before the interview if you're really interested in getting hired. You'll need to know how to use an RMI, HSI, and possibly an ADF (yikes!).

Interview is pretty straight forward. Quiz over AIM stuff, a HR interview, and a sim interview. BAIF stuff including an ILS, MA, DME ARC, holding, and RMI/ADF usage. Obviously a solid instrument scan is a must! Call Lisa with prosimtraining . . .
