Looking to relocate to the Chicago area and need some intel on the facilities at the Great Lakes station.
Would appreciate help from any current military/retired types who have used the Exchange, Commissary, Marina, Golf course, Gym, etc. I'm retired USAF (don't hold that against me Navy guys!), and current airline driver.
Grew up in Aurora and have family in Mundelein so I'm fairly smart on the local area but have never been to Great Lakes.
Any advice appreciated, Thanks

MMA35,
Exchange and commissary fine, not USAF quality though <bg>.
Marina is late spring through fall. Closed in winter. Lots of retirees pass through the facilities.
Here is a link to help out. https://www.cnic.navy.mil/GreatLakes...tion/index.htm
I drilled there for a bit. Did you go to Marmion then? Grew up on the Fox River north of you.
