There are good, bad, and ugly parts of JSX. Depending on your needs, I would say this may be a great place for you. I know what my purpose here is, and I plan to be here until I my dream job calls me. My counterparts at the regionals are making so much more money now that I really encourage my friends that think about wanting to apply to look at us vs them. If they really need what JSX can provide, then I refer my friends here, otherwise, I encourage them to look elsewhere. I highly recommend reading the last 10-15 pages on this thread as it is mostly accurate. Take some of it with a grain of salt though.

I'm looking hard at DAL. My primary focus is being home daily. It seems like DAL isn't included in the home nightly bases. Am I understanding that correctly? I've heard the good. I'm trying to find the bad and the ugly before I apply.

Thank you very much, this is very helpful. Money is not a priority for me. QOL, good schedule, and being home more days (or nights) is more important for me. I’m most interested in PHX and DAL.

Default Junior Bases

Hello Everyone,

I am currently close to making the jump from Instructing to Part 135. I was curious about the seniority of each base for JSX and how transferring bases works.

I have read the last couple of pages but have not seen how senior each base is!

Seniority is somewhat equal everywhere with the exception of LAS and DAL.

When will they hire, when is the likelihood of next ground school class. Heard one year contract and they are offering 15k bonus to sign on

There are no contracts… yet. The bonus is paid over 2 years.

Default Hiring updates?

Curious if anyone knows about hiring right now. Still going? Has it slowed down? How long until you typically hear back after applying? Next class dates? Any insight would be appreciated.

Default SIC time to upgrade

For those in the know:

1. How much SIC time on type does JSX require before being eligible to upgrade to Captain?
2. Any update on the 2023 hiring numbers per month?

Thanks!

Hiring will slow for rest of year. 2023 will be a big year of hiring though. About 300-500 hours of SIC time before upgrading but there are other variables as well.
