Does anyone know approximately how much Flight Safety instructors earn?

Hopefully we'll get some current info here, mine is a few years old. One problem though is they vary quite a bit between centers and aircraft types. The Gulfstream instructors seem to make the most. Wichita is at the low end, sub 100k.

Wow...at another (competing) sim school a decade ago we didn't have anybody below 100k.

It's hard to wrap your head around just how cheap FSI is. I suspect center managers are bonused based on their P&L so the more they keep wages down the better they do.

FSI, like Nebraska Furniture Mart (another Buffet company or used to be...) is super cheap.

Their "breakfast spread" in the AM is a box of donuts some instructor brought in and put on the table in the hallway

Default FSI

Last year, I heard FSI in Columbus received a considerable pay bump, but I didn't ask how much. This is because I've heard they're having a hard time recruiting quality instructors.

It's definitely center dependent. The Gulfstream SAV and LGB have always been much higher. It wouldn't surprise me if NJA complains enough to keep CMH at least competitive.

FSI taught me to be an instructor and I appreciated the experience which helped me with other training department jobs. But it is absolutely a sweatshop and if you stay too long (get too many quals) they will work you 6 days per week and call you while you are on vacation to ask if you can come in.

If you have other choices I simply cannot recommend working there. As always if you need a job; you need a job.

As a former CAE customer, I always thought FSI was the "nice" one. It can't be worse than CAE, can it?

Anyone knows if a SIC fulltime gig with FSI would reach $50,000/year ??

Default SIM pay

I was making 100k in colorado, but that didn't include any overtime which was anything over 72 hours a month. DFW pays less due to lower cost of living.
