If you want to get hired into the 99, your best bet is to contact the particular base you are interested in (SLC or PHX for example). They will do everything they can to hire you in to THEIR base. If you go through Burbank, they will likely send you to Oakland or Portland to fly pistons and give you little to no choice. At 135 minimums, you can get hired into the 99. People do it all the time.

I don't think you need the MEI since you are both rated, and you are not receiving training towards a ticket.

No CFII would be needed you since the instruction is not for an instrument rating.

Most new hires go into the Chieftain, and the bases that tend to need them most now are PDX, OAK, and perhaps BUR for system reserve. At 850tt, you'd have to build up to 1200 as a TC in BUR. I'm not sure if there are any undertime TCs for the 99.

Thanks - I assume the Chieftains are flown single pilot? Those bases sound fantastic for me, what happens if I apply with the 1200TT? Straight to the 99?

In a word- no. There is a greater demand by far for Chieftain pilots at both OAK and PDX than for 99. Beyond that, it would depend on what kind of time you have. You can PM me for more if you want.

And yes, all of our ops up to Embraer are flown single pilot. Best training you can ask for, and you even get paid to do it.

I heard through the grapevine a while that some of the planes are getting some type of avionics upgrade, Anything new a shiny added to panel.

NO EMB based in OAK as far as I know,,there is word off some GPS's coming soon starting with the turbines, especially in the areas where there are few approches available.

We're getting Garmin 430W, WAAS capable receivers installed in the aircraft. The bases with airport destinations that have GPS only approaches or overlays will be the first to get the new aircraft. The ground training program has been blessed form the FAA, so now it's just a matter of time.
