Air Ambulance
I think there was a thread in here that got lost in the MX ... caught my eye regarding air ambulance work.
With just under 3000 hours and willingness to work just about anywhere in turbine equipment, what sort of ambulance ops are options or come recommended?
I've seen position postings for Eagle Air Med and Hawaii Air Ambulance (same owners?) ... pay seems incredible (60-100k !???). Not sure if that means it should actually be un-believable or perhaps really just that high. They gave a very terse response, so even a dash below 3k isn't working for them.
Thanks for input.

I fly for Air Methods, Fixed Wing in the Black Hills, SD, and I absolutely love it! The lifestyle, the pay for starting out... it's great. Air Methods is the largest air ambulance company in the states due to the CJ Systems buy out. Benefits, union, and just about everything that has to do with the company is outstanding. Air Methods is based in Englewood, CO on KAPA airfield. The company is mostly rotorcraft but about 20% is fixed-wing. Do some research. I have no complaints!!!!

I waited almost a year to a get a spot here in my home town, but there were others I could've chose from. The thing is, every FW pilot here loves there job, especially the captains. I was told I probably wont see a captain upgrade for four to five years. Just keep checking back and it wouldn't hurt to send in your resume to the HR department They accept FO's with 600 and 50 multi. They're also looking for a captain in AZ (1500 TT with ATP).

I work for MedCenter Air, out of CLT. We fly Citation 5 / Ultras, and B200 King Air's. I love it here, been here for 8 years now. Great schedule with a lot of time with the fam. There are other jobs that pay a lot more, but you sacrifice the schedule. Take your pick...
