I hate to say it but with the current economic conditions and the price of crude oil futures slowly starting to inch up.....

Well, looks like the same this is happening in aviation that is happening in trucking. Once we have a few failures we will have a decrease in capacity and the survivors will benefit from it. Right now my small trucking company is weathering the storm of high oil and a slow shipping year. So far we have seen several good sized & small financially unstable trucking businesses bite the dust and countless financially unstable owner operators also bite the dust. Once freight picks up and capacity is reduced then the surviving carriers will prosper. I have a feeling that the aviation industry will experience the same results. I sure hope so I would like to be able to get some 135 time well by business is small. Good luck to anyone who is negatively affected by this I can only hope the best for them!

I think this was sad for DayJet and for the pilots/personnel that worked there. Good luck to all of you. The economy abosultely contributed to the lack of growth at DayJet, it was one of those ideas that came in to business at the wrong time. The inabilities and false promises of the Eclipse didnt help the company either. It takes a good airplane to grow a good business...the Eclipse is more of a paper weight than a "real" airplane.

I think Dayjet was day-dreaming with their inception. Using 2 pilots in a plane that can't carry more than 4 people total for weight? Then doing short-hops in a turbine aircraft, yikes!!!! They should've just bought a bunch of G1000 Barons and at least not ate it with fuel and staffing. Even in a good economy, they weren't going to survive IMO.

I'm not saying the jet isn't a bad airplane, but unfortunately it's had tons of issues that weren't resolved before delivery. The airframe, in my opinion, is a work of art and is very well done. Unfortunately their systems are something left to be desired, which has been the killer all around.

You couldn't pay me enough to buy one of those pigs.

Those clowns will be the next to go under. Bad news for the employees, with whom I sympathize, but the product is terrible.

Hot off the NY times press: Eclipse will move the operation to Russia due to "economic/funding difficulties"...I say the Russians can keep it.

Perhaps the Russian Mafia will take majority share in the company (Eclipse). It will certainly not have any difficulties with type certification there like it has here. :eek:
