"With a fleet of 67 Cessna 402s, with a capacity of nine passengers each, and 24 ATRs with 42 seats" so where are we hiding the other 22 ATRs?

So according to that article we have 24 ATR 42s. I never knew we could staff that many air frames with so few pilots

I love a good speculative airline article as much as the next guy. But come on. This is an article about the possibility of using a potential aircraft that we might purchase to fly a proposed route we've considered flying.

You could easily substitute Britten Norman Islander with Apollo lunar module and the article would be just as credible.

And I've heard the Islander rumor, and I had a good laugh, but like any joke, it gets kinda old after a while.

24 ATRs???? I guess they bought 22 more frames since i left:rolleyes:....I know its a typo.

It will be interesting trying to replace the 402

$1.1 mil for the Islander??? I'm guessing they mean that much for all ten?

Lol, yeah I think that's more accurate. The company seems pretty serious about the Block Island thing though. Guess we'll see, doesn't matter to me either way, I'm not gonna fly that piece of junk. lol. As far as the ATR typo in the article, it'll be interesting to see if that's still a typo in 5 years or so...

I've flown the DC9, 319/320 and currently fly the B757/767. Your statement simply isn't true. The only thing the 319/320 provides that the B757/767 doesn't is that with the autopilot disengaged the aircraft trims itself. Also V1 cuts are slightly less laborious in the 319/320. But you can watch both aircraft types fly all the way to a stop. You can "monitor" the Boeing just as much as the Airbus.

One thing I do miss about the Airbus 319/320 is the tray table. It's so hard to eat my Business Class meal from a tray on my lap. :D

Just wondering if any current Cape pilots could share any thought or insight into where some recent new hire FO's may be placed? Any current areas of need? Any info or opinions would be greatly appreciated because Cape has been pretty vague on what to expect come September/October.

Thanks a lot :)

I am interviewing for a Captain position. I got the option to move it up because I believe he said they were trying to fill an August class. I could have misunderstood, I was just happy to have it sooner.
