Default Airnet Furloughs

For the first time in the companies history Airnet is furloughing an expected 50-55 pilots(better than 25% of the force). This move is to keep the company afloat while we change the way we do business. The glint of light at the end of the tunnel though is that expected callbacks will be in late October/November. Good luck to all.

Why would they furlough to expect call backs a month or two later?

They will slowly call back everyone. Full callback isn't expected till March 09'. My guess is that we are hurting so bad that we need every penny we can get our hands on, until the routes are changed. It's anyones guess though.

This is a very good question, one that I keep asking my self. My guess is that they are changing things so drastically that it is easier just to "clean house" and pick up the pieces a couple of months later..............

All pilots at AirNet are now being "asked" to rebid for our entire system based on seniority and seat position. You can bid down, but not up!

To say the least I'm a little surprised of this sudden turn of events.
