Thanks for your reply.
Briefly - I am an airline pilot flying as a captain for an Asian airline but domociled in LA. I hold Australian ATP, I am an australian.
My interest is simply to obtain an FAA ATP for future contract work if required. I thought it would be a good opportunity to combine the ATP check ride with a type rating on something like a King Air. I have many hours on Turbocommander 690's from 20 years ago but they dont appear to be very common around here.
BUT....I know almost nothing about aviation in the US.
What I would love to do is pick up some part time flying right seat in something like a small charter/corporate turbo prop. Just an occasional trip, nothing to frequent.
Do 300/350's require an FO for charter/corporate and if so does the FO require a type rating. I think from memory in oz the 350 requires a type (we call it an endorsement) and requires 2 crew for pax commercial operation and the FO would need the type also.
Is is common to use casual or part timers for FO work in such a machine?
Any info would be appreciated. Its time for me to start flying again instead of just monitoring an autopilot for 10 hours. Yawn,
kind regards,
Paul
