Would you leave DPJ for a major?

Hey 2Stg, I was just curious about the training timeline at DPJ. I guess it's 1 week of Indoc in CVG and then off to sim training? Hotels? Single Occupancy? How long from start to finish? Where would they send someone for sim who will be on the Excel?
Thanks!

Yes. The company treats its employees much better than an airline and the flying is fun, but I would not mind getting treated like a number flying from one class B to another for six figures.

Indoc is one week and the Excel type rating is 10-14 days at CAE in DFW. Single occupancy rooms with kitchens. It took me 38 days to go from day one of indoc to my first flight.

I left DPJ for a major and have never thought for once that it was the wrong decision. Guys that retired from Delta have not lasted long at DPJ!! Its a slave job. I heard from a friend who is transitioning to a new jet at DPJ, the chief pilot said that he might have to be gone almost a month!! HE IS NOT GETTING ANY EXTRA PAY!! The daily pay for being out more than 8 days is a joke anyway but to not get that is aweful. He is doing his type (15-20 days) and is being forced to go back on the road for an 8 day rotation after. THAT IS BS! The shine wears off real fast after indoc... As far as a raise they got... what a joke! $1300 dollars a year. thats 54 bucks a check before taxes! what a waste.
