Guess they sold the airplanes but not the operation... I call BS on saying you can only shut down suddenly.

"This is a business that requires the highest level of safety," Vottis said. "Were I to make an early announcement, then my pilots are spending their time focused on more than worrying about their landing. They are focused on their job ending, what their future is going to be."
DUH....

Plenty of airlines have shut down with as much as a month notice, and they didn't auger an airplane in. Doesn't matter much at this point of the ball game. I for one would've wanted to know if I was an employee.

I completely agree but a lot of guys saw it coming. A large chunk of Yutes income was from Medicaid travel and us travel which was recently revamped and they hadn't been paying out properly which made Yute no longer profitable it was just breaking even and the owner basically just had no reason to keep the business that didn't make money over the last 2 years. There were other issues as well but the owner was not a pilot and had no skin in the aviation world other than profit so no reason to hang on to a failing system. Yute had the best pilot group in the bush and could fly the hell out of a 207. Good Luck to their guys. I know they all have found other jobs and will do great things.
