Default Seaplane rating

Currently a CFI. I have an interview to fly a C208 seaplane monday. I'm not sure if the company is willing to pay for the rating or it will have to come out of my pocket. How hard is the checkride?

Seaplane rating is pretty fun and easy. Takes about 3 hours (and about 35 landings) to get the hang of it.

Seaplane flying is about the most fun you can have with clothes on.

Jack Brown’s Seaplane Base in Winter Haven, Florida. I would budget for four extra training sessions over package to be safe. That’d be about $2,000 for commercial single engine sea rating, plus travel/hotel. Seaplane job is the most fun flying job out there!

Did mine at Jack's. 2 days. No extra flying required. My favorite flying I've done.

Jack Browns is a blast. The most fun flying I've done to date, and I worked at Tropic for 2 years. I loved my time at Tropic, lots of fun flying. It's not all roses, as there's a lot of other duties that come with flying, but overall it was a great experience.

Good luck.
