Even if you get some free right seat time on your days off in the otter etc is worth it, if your the one flying the plane thats multi time period, will be good to get that logged till you find a full time flying gig, also you may find you love skydiving...its the most fun you can have with your clothes on

Default Make sure to learn a little about the Otter

If you are going to log time which if you are flying it you should., learn some of the systems and be able to answer basic questions about the Otter.

Ya I had that problem last summer, missed out on some skyvan time,, got it now and its nice seeing dch6 in my logbook, if your the one physically flying its logable, as long as u got mel, and most pilots I've flown w are more than happy to teach ya about the turbines

yea everyone seems pretty cool there, this should be a pretty good experience im looking forward to...they do have a caravan on site now but the rest are leased out to other drop zones, as for the caravans, what is the typical requirement for PIC? I emailed them a really long time ago curiosu aboutt heir requirements and they said they wanted 500tt but are accepting resumes even if you dont have that. is the 500 a hard requirement or are they lax about it?

Default Been in the bus for 35 years

Flying the Otter is still one of favs, if I could find an Otter gig that was close to home and could pay my bills. I would give up this commuting thing, glass Boeings are boring.

Flying jumpers in general is fun and a good time builder. One possible problem is that its not cross country time. If you're trying to get to a 135 job or something you might end up like me 1230 total but only 375 xc. Way better than working at a hotel though like you said.
