Thought I would bring this post back up. It sounds like hiring is going to start again for us low timers. Anybody planning on attending the Job Fair it Atlanta next week? Any news or rumors anybody wants to share?

Hey all, i'm out of Columbus. You need to determine which route you want to take (i.e. airlines, corp, cargo, etc...) and tailor yourself from there. I had no desire for the regionals so I graduated from OSU with 248 hrs and did aerial mapping (Landcare Aviation, Air America, Northern States, etc....) to build up my TT. That led to a king air job and now a kush part 91 gig. And they paid for my ATP. Even consider working at an FBO to network and catch MX runs with guys will help. Keep in mind if you want to go to the regionals, they will slowly be raising they hiring mins since the "atp" rule goes into effect next Aug.

Best of luck!

I've found work... I'm just about finished with my CFI and I'm jumping into my II just as soon as I'm finished. I fly a few times a week for Traffic Watch in my city and I'm hoping to hear back from an aerial mapping company I interviewed with last week.

The term low timers is a bad term, anybody with less than 1500 is a low timer. I have spoken with a couple captains at Expressjet and they are going to start up strong come October. A friend of a friend is on the hiring board and he confirmed it two days ago. 1200 TT 100 multi is the mins as of now. Anybody else close or hear any rumors? Cape Air is still at 1000.

I am out of OSU myself, few years ago. finally broke 1000 w 400 multi turbine.
