Hello all I have a guy looking at buying a twin to fly from the US to Belize where he has property. I have never done any long water crossings and have never flown in the caribbean. It appears the best route is from Key West along Cuba then toward Cancun and then down.
-Can any of you tell me about similar flights?
-Also can you tell me some good items to have whenever we complete this trip?
-How is the flying near and around cuba, cancun, and in around Belize?
-User fees?
-Are there any good sites for researching this type of flying?
Thanks in advance.

2012 'Bahamas & Caribbean Pilot's Guide' available
The guide is tabbed into sections about the Bahamas; the Turks & Caicos; Hispaniola/Cuba (Dominican Republic, Haiti); the Western Caribbean (Cayman Islands, Jamaica, Yucatan, Belize, Roatan); Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands; Eastern Caribbean (Anguilla south to Aruba, Bonaire, and Curacao); the United States (Florida airports with customs); and survival. Each section includes travel information, accommodations, and car rental listings. Pilot information includes frequencies, runway hours, fuel availability, aerial photographs, GPS designators, and longitudes and latitudes. A general information section discusses customs, flight plans, forms, procedures, and requirement equipment.
