Default Quick Question about a job

Hi, I accepted a job as a flight instructor at a local flying club but this place is struggling to keep me busy. Before they hired me they told me it will take some time to get busy and have enough students. They also have a king Air and a Citation that I could eventually work into (this will take some time). I am paid hourly I been working at this place for a month.

Meanwhile my university offered me an interview for a full time flight instructor position with benefits and salary. I am torn what to do and if I should jump ship. Could you offer me any advice?

One place has a potential for king air time / the university has full benefits and steady salary and steady students to get my hours. I don't want to burn any bridges, could you offer any advice ?

I love your podcast and it's very inspirational.

Thank you

Take the full time job. Getting your hours quicker will be more beneficial in the long run than a slight chance at some right seat time in a KA. I am sure they will understand as they are not keeping you very busy. I would take the full time instructor job and not look back.

Flying clubs by their nature are unstructured. I don't see a reason why you couldn't keep both jobs.

This ^^^.

I work at a university 141 program. Many of our instructors also instruct at local flight clubs on the side. YMMV. If I had to choose between the two, the university would be my choice hands down. Getting a steady stream of flight hours is more important to your career right now than a bit of right seat turboprop time. especially if airlines are your eventual goal.
