I wanted to start a current thread for any current skydive pilots and/or potential ones. We can talk about crazy stuff we see at the DZ, job postings, aircraft info etc.

All of our pilots have over 1,000 hours of experience and they fly 25 hours as co-pilot before they must pass a rigorous check ride with our chief pilot. We have an ongoing commitment to safety and keep our pilots on a continuing education training program. Our totally cool jump plane is serviced by an FAA approved mechanic based right at the airport. He loves that plane and takes wonderful care of it.
Our office staff consists of the owner, Mike, his wife Peggy. You will be greeted with a friendly smile when you walk in the door. You’re not just another number, but now a valued customer and a new friend. It’s no secret why we have people come back numerous times with groups of their friends to enjoy an adrenaline filled afternoon!

You are correct the 500TT is an insurance requirement. There are ways around it. I was hired on a 206 last year at 275 hours. The insurance company agreed to cover me after I had 25 hours in type flying jumpers. So I flew with another pilot onboard for 25 hours and was covered. A lot of drop zones are struggling to get pilots due to the fact cape air and a lot of 135 operations are taking guys at the 500 hours and paying better. So just send them your resume and show them you are willing to work hard and never compromise the safety of the drop zone and they might work with you. Also get some 182 time that helps as well. Good Luck!
