company employee website. Permanent bid will occur with May upgrade bid likely end of March. 17 - 20 CA, FO, FA for the base. Those employees are all likely already on property. The “lost lines” will be mostly from the PHL base. Should allow for “more efficient lines” independent of what mainline has been assigning. There will be a crew room. CP duties and support will still be in PHL for this crew base.

The re-opening of the MDT base shows what a vital part Piedmont plays in the greater AA network. MDT base allows PDT to expand its routes, bring pilots to where they need to be, and will be an excellent reliever to PHL during bad weather days (re-routes, cancellations, etc.)

What's also great is that TONS of pilots live in MDT and this is even more of a reason to join PDT for guys living in the area. All around a great move by those in the drivers seat.

A truly stunning and brave move that will vastly improve QOL for 6% of the flight crew workforce. If it means less overnights in that dump of a Sheraton I am for it.

That hotel must be opened by someone in management at AA. Even we at AA stay there. What a trash hotel.

Are you sure you're talking about the same place? That hotel is often rated as one of the best in the MDT area and is considered a luxury property based on amenities offered.

I didn't post this to turn into hotel discussions. Let's focus on what matters here, and that's PDT making bold moves with opening a new base that will continue to propel them. You can't deny it.
