Do you typically credit minimum reserve each month, or are you flying over 75 hours per month?

How many hours do you credit if more than 75 hours per month?

Does anyone commute to reserve the same day when on long call (12 hours)?

I'm a DEC on reserve, so Im low seniority. I live in base and bid last out. I average around 70 hrs credit/month, so I get the 75 hr min credit. I block around 50 hrs/month because I usually only get repos and cover half trips with deadheads and reserve flying that no one wants. I get called 80% of the days on call (estimated).

I know at least some people commute same day with the 12 hour long call out. Where will you commute from (that makes all the difference)? I can't speak to how much the LCR guys block, but I guess they block over 75. In theory, they should get called first and get the longer trips.

Ha, yeah every time we have LCR, it is "escalated" to SCR and then often to Airport Standby. Based on "need"...which apparently is always. Union says they're "working on it", trying to get some transparency with the company for how many reserves are actually needed (historical data is kept close to the vest by the company)

Only thing good about that setup is that there's positive space for commuters, and a hotel in base for your reserve stretch. IF you've gotten 250 hours in the left seat. Won't be surprised if the union negotiates gives away those goodies over time.

(and should I mention that we used to get stay credit, a voucher for food costs and access to the other hotel goodies...but cheep cheep a bird told me the contract was renegotiated with hotels and those have gone away. Even for lineholders at many of the overnights.)

I have not credited more than 75 hours in two years.
