Default Cancelled Classes - Dejavu?

I had a class date last year with PDT for the summer of 2024. It was cancelled. However I now have an updated class date for april of this year. I would like to give my current employeer 2 weeks notice, but after last year I am a bit reluctant to give notice until I am physically in class. With AA stopping summer classes do you think the April - May classes will be cancelled? I hear we are short on FO's so it's unlikely but wanted to see if anyone had any intel form the school house.

Also - How are things at PDT? I hear PBS is "Coming Soon"

Give 2 week notice and be prepared to go back tail between your legs if PDT cancels classes. Or give immediate notice the day before you go to class and burn the bridge in the future in case of a downturn at PDT.

What if your employer requires 4 weeks notice?

Well you can either give the notice they require or not. Unless in a foreign country it really won't matter how you resign if you don't care about going back to that company or it's affiliates again.

Is your employer one of these people you can talk to that understands career progression?

I would say so. I’m in a non flying job right now and everyone knows I fly jets on the side and think it’s way more interesting than what I do in the business world. (& so do I)

I think even if class gets cancelled and I tell them there’s a chance it might they would 100% keep me on if it happened.

Right now I’d say the chance is small but I’m leaving this lucrative business job to take this leap for a lot less money and hopefully a way more satisfying existence which is invaluable.

Sorry. Not in the schoolhouse yet. I shouldn’t use we language.

That was my original plan. Go to INDOC and quit day 1 of home study. However I’m in a higher up business role for a great company god forbid something happens in life that I need to go back to this lame business existence I’d want to exit ethically and properly.

My unqualified amateur opinion is to do the right thing, give 2 weeks notice and depart amicably. You can rescind your resignation if something goes wrong.

Play devil's advocate. Imagine quitting no notice day 1 of indoc. You fail some sims and get terminated. Will a company you tried to screw over take you back?
