Case in point, Piedmont is not contacting you, but they did hire one of our captains recently. So you are competing with people who are moving sideways in the industry with previous experience. At Mesa, I'd say 75% of the new F.O's I fly with came from another regional or had turbine experience. The flight instructors, most I have to watch like a hawk on landings. A few F.O's I have flown with weren't flight instructors, and had no turbine experience, but were very good stick and rudder types from doing odd stuff like chasing drones for government contract work.
Piedmont has probably the best flow agreement right now, so they are getting a lot of experienced applicants in the door probably. Mesa with 15 new E-jets coming, is most likely getting a lot of attention from other regional pilots as well. Now with SkyWest getting 17 or more E-jets for Delta, I'd imagine they are only looking at previous experience applicants as well.
Do you have currency? Have you not been flying while waiting for a phone call? Make no mistake about it, you can't be lazy and expect to get a job even in this market, get your butt in a King Air or Learjet doing air ambulance work, something other than a C172.

Seriously? I couldn't disagree more. Went from a 172 to a 121 airline. Challenging? Yes. As hard as you make it sound? Not at all. An airplane is still an airplane.

Can I be real? Be real son. If a regional hasn't called you back within 2 weeks max. They're not gonna call. Most people are getting called within a few days lately.

That's the only reason I could think of that they wouldn't be calling you. And, to be honest, if they don't want you for that reason, then you probably don't want them, as you'll be getting bypassed for upgrades by people coming in behind you who do have the 121 time.

Plenty of other carriers out there who aren't going to be as concerned about that, as they're not growing the way Piedmont is, but still have decent movement. You'll do better getting on with them sooner than you will waiting for Piedmont to get back to you.

I received a Piedmont CJO within the last two months as a 1380 hour CFI needing 1500 hours to be eligible for my R-ATP. They were giving job offers to people who still needed to take their ATP written. I don't think experience is the issue. You might have a current 121 pilot look at your resume / application to see if there are glitches with what you've submitted.

Don't most carriers slow hiring down for the holidays and resume hiring in January/February? That would allow them to be more selective.

May be Billy is right.....that's a sign
Quite unbelievable! You are ready to start training and people getting offers prior to reaching ATP mins!
Where's that shortage again?

I made the same transition as well, just telling you what I have observed from my F.O's.

I applied two weeks ago and haven't heard anything yet, but since it has only been two weeks I'm not really sweating it yet.

Might wait till the end of the month before trying to reach out.

On the app where it asks when you can start, I listed that I'm not available till mid January, so I may not be high up the list for an immediate call for that.
