Mike,
As of december 1st 2006, you will be able to convert all your FAA licenses (excluding instructor ratings, but including everything else from PPL-ATPL) to Canadian lisences with a single Air law exam, as of right now however i think the conversion is a bit more complex. So my advice would be to hold off until december, convert your licenses, and start looking. Perhaps you could give Transport Canada a call and find out all the information on this subject.
