Default Eye issues

Anyone know if an eye floater is a disqualifying medical issue for a 1st class medical? A buddy of mine said all a sudden one day a small dark spot poped up in his field of vision. He said it does not affect him from seeing things, says its just annoying. I dont know what to tell him and he is nervous about going to the doc I guess although that is his best bet to be sure.

I was told it was a non-issue. I had a floater and was told they come and go. It's been a while but I never had problems. Then again, I only disclose what I have to to the AME...

I could be wrong but I don't believe there is any box for it on the form and if you can get through the eye exam your good to go.

Mine was just annoying too. After a long while (a year or so) it went away.

I also have one, I've had it for about 4 years it comes and goes but causes no issues.

it can be a symptom for worse things, but usually it's just a small annoyance. I have a couple as well, I only see them in very big contrast settings, like when I'm standing in shade looking at a very bright colored surface.
I took my case to an eye doctor and he said it was nothing to worry about in my case

I've got one too. I head once that they're caused by the fact that when you're young the insides of your eyes are gelatinous, and in your late teens/twenties they turn to liquid. Sometimes not all of it turns liquid, and viola, a floater.
