Default list of weight loss tips

Eat slowly. Eat in a certain place — not all over the house. Always sit down to a carefully set place at the table and eat only one helping of planned foods. Prepare only enough food for one meal.

I think the NW and DL folks can follow the Indy air diet plan...BK
chapter 11, pretty sure that will cover most excess indulgences for most

My brain (and yours) requires carbs in order to function properly . I am tired of hearing that carbs are the root of american's obesity epidemic.

GO EXERCISE AND STOP EATING FAST FOOD!

Reduce carbs somewhat, eat more fruits/veggies/protien. Yes, beer is a carb...I limit the bread and pasta so I don't have to limit the beer.

Aerobic exercise (or at least a daily walk).

Strength training (muscle mass burns more energy).

Active hobbies (vice playing on the internet all day).

KiloAlpha - yes, your body does need carbs to function - it makes all it needs naturally out of proteins and fats. there are essential proteins and fats, but no such thing as an essential carbohydrate.

if you're tired of hearing it, fine, do whatever keeps you healthy. but some of us have gone from borderline obese (220lbs 6'0") to "athletic" (185lbs) by staying on a low carb diet. very little exercise other than elliptical. cholesterol levels are normal and ecg values are, to quote one doc, "out of this world" - go figure.

Ah yes, the weight loss tip that everybody seems to overlook.

If you're a heavy soda drinker, you'd be surprised by the difference that can be made simply by switching to water - or in my case, water with lemon
