Default 1st Class Med Cert Issue?

So, I am 99% deaf in my right ear, but my hearing in my left ear is perfectly fine. Will I be able to obtain a 1st class medical certificate?

Sounds to me like you're well on your way to being the perfect captain.

I actually know a captain who is totally deaf in his right ear. Good guy to play tricks on.

Probably, although this will require a waiver and presumably a hearing aid.

Some airline employers will not accept medical waivers, which could limit your career options.
