Default Getting my third class medical card

So, back in May of 2007 I had a condition in where my stomach would let up some extra acid into my throat, which caused ulcers. After my ulcers developed, they bled which eventually led to me becoming anemic (in which where your body is low on blood which causes a loss of energy.) So, I had to get a blood transfusion. 5 months later (october) i had to get surgery to close the gap in my stomach to stop the reflux. Also, I had Barrets Esophagus (research it) at the time which is now gone.

As of now my surgery DID come undone so I have to take some antacids (Prevacid). If I don't take them I get a some very light reflux...nothing that would stop me from doing anything.

In conclusion, my digestion system has had some problems.

Alright, now that you're done reading that...will getting my third class card be a hassle? Or is it impossible?

SoCal -

Try this site.
It should give you a resource that I have found helpful in determining whether a medical condition will be a problem with obtaining any class of medical.

Virtual Flight Surgeons Inc. -- Your One Source for FAA Medical Certification Waiver Assistance!

Good luck.

You can hold a first class medical with healed ulcers and controlled GERD. The main concerns are that nothing is currently active or out of control.

I highly recommend VFS.
