Default Wolff Parkinson White?

Anyone have any insight about this? With no symptoms and no arrhythmias, what are the chances of maintining a medical certificate?

I had WPW and it showed up on a medical test for my major airline job interview. The company was good and told me to take care of it, I went to my AME at UNMC in Omaha, NE and they did an ablation (catheter thru the artery in your leg into your heart) and zapped the extra conductive pathways. I did a treadmill test afterward and got my 1st class medical back with no restrictions and my job with the airline. Another pilot I know that works with my airline had arrhythmias and got an ablation and just got his medical back. For both of us it took about 4 - 5 months to get the medical back.

Chances are very good. It is too long of a "spiel" to type here. Make an appointment with a cardiologist (particular a cardiac electrophysiologist / EP subspecialty).

Basically, it is an extra connection between the top of your heart and bottom that predisposes to arrhythmias. In order to preserve your license you need to have a doctor demonstrate that you are at low risk of arrhythmias, either through some sort of testing or full ablation (like RVFlier describes.) Once ablation is done you are "cured" and have no elevated risk of arrhythmia compared to anybody else.
