Sorry to hear that. I think AOPA might have something online to help guide you through the process if you're a member. Other than that, are you represented by a union that could have a group set up to help with situations like this? I hope you get it all sorted out.

Just had it happen 6 months ago, really not a huge deal. Go to a doctor, get on anti hypertensives, get a full blood workup and EKG, takes 2 weeks to be sure no side effects and then go back to doctor and have him submit a letter to FAA or AME saying your BP is under control. I was back up and flyin 2 weeks from my medical appointment. You can find the High BP FAA protocol on the internet. Kinda freaked me out but it is good to get it under control, for me it is probably genetic, all the males in my family have it. After the initial workup you just have to submit a doctors letter saying it is under control with your following medicals along with 3 BP reading from the last year showing it under155/95. This is the most common issue the FAA deals with, it used to be that you could not use medicine, but the limits were real hi like 170/100. My Grandpa fought it for years, trying to pass his medical and not being able to be on antihypertensives, this probably led him to getting heart disease, thankfully the FAA has wised up. Call your Regional FAA aeromedical division, they were a great help to me. PM me if you have any questions.
