Heart Surgery(Hiring Question)
hey, I had heart surgery when I was 7, mainly for precautionary reasons, but have had no problems since. Will this keep me from passing either a 1st or 3rd class medical exam? thanks. I am 22 now.

I'd imagine if you can pass a stress test monitored by an EKG then you should be fine.

I haven't heard of any [credible] doctors who give out sound advice over the Internet. Talk to your family doctor about the condition and how it might affect your needs for an FAA medical. Then go see a FAA aeromedical examiner.
Short of that, everything you'll read here is a guess.
That said, the FAA gives waivers for just about every medical condition.
Good Luck!

Probably not but let a specialist give you legal advice before you go to an AME. If your doctor is not familiar with the process and fills out wrong forms, etc. you might be facing lengthy delays in getting your medical. www.leftseat.com is one place I would research (not cheap, probably $400-$1,000 for them filing out the forms for you). Maybe others can recommend some other sites?
